Following the primitive darkness of their 1996 debut EP Skogsgriftens rike, Swedish black metal cult Sorhin returned in 1997 with their first full-length, I det glimrande mörkrets djup. Recorded at Abyss Studio in November 1996, the album captures Sorhin at an early peak, raw, melodic and deeply rooted in the sinister spirit of the Swedish underground of the mid-to-late 90s.

From the relentless opening of “Godhetens fall” to the haunting title track, Sorhin forged a sound of abrasive guitars, hypnotic melodies and uncompromising darkness, establishing the foundation for what would become one of the most revered Swedish black metal discographies of the era.
